Ways To Look After Yourself Coming Out of Lockdown

Last weekend saw pubs reopen and people be allowed (although with some restrictions) to visit each other in their houses again. This return to normal has been welcomed by many but we understand that for others, the return to normality will be a big step. For lots of people who have been stuck indoors since March, going out into the big wide world will be a massive step. So, for something a little different from our blog today, we wanted to share some advice that we think may help.

Take it Slowly

Although the world has returned to normal, that doesn’t mean you have to rush out and do everything at once. It’s perfectly fine if you don’t want to visit Brookfield Shopping Centre just yet, or feel like getting the train to London for a day out is a step too far. You have to set your own boundaries and move at your own pace. We know that Cheshunt has lots of outdoor activities to enjoy, with many of the entertainment options that were closed starting to open up, so you can always enjoy an outdoor activity or two if you prefer.

Practice Self Care

Looking after yourself has to be your main priority, so ensure you take some time out of your week to do this. This could be doing a face mask at home, making sure you get enough exercise, spending an evening read comics,  treating yourself to a massive bubble bath or watching a film, whatever works for you.
The Space 2 Be offers local yoga classes and although these are currently closed, they have moved their services online so could be worth checking out. Many local hairdressers have re-opened their doors and although you may have to pre-book, it is now perfectly possibly to get your hair cut if you wish. We’re right opposite Andy’s Barber Shop, which has been popular since restrictions were lifted so they could well be worth checking out if you’re looking for a trim!

Lots of beauty services are still closed by places like Beau-Ti Spot Turns Hill and The Retreat at the Laura Trott Centre will be re-opening once the government lifts restrictions on, so it is well worth taking a look at their websites to be kept up to date.

Stay Safe

The best advice that can be given if you’re nervous about being out and about is to stay safe. You can buy facemasks from lots of different places now and most shops have a decent stock of hand sanitiser. Keep your distance from people where possible and be reassured that most shops are still restricting the number of people who can enter, so you don’t have to worry. It is great to get out and about to support the local economy and doing this will you feel safe is even better.

Enjoy Yourself

The great thing about Cheshunt is that there is so much outdoor space. The government and scientists have told us that the spread of Coronavirus is much reduced when outside. So, when the weather is on our side get yourself out to Lee Valley Regional Park or Cedars Park and make the most of the sunshine & the beautiful outdoor space this part of the country offers.
